What a fantastic post to end the year with. Plus a profound, honest and deep sharing of what it means to BE a spiritual doula. And to receive it. We cannot do without that (the being ánd receiving). I thank you for all the times you were my spiritual doula and where I had the pleasure to be yours. With our spiritual-doula-'band' (pure sisterhood in our case), we are there for one another and get each other out of an ego storm pretty quickly. If you compare that with 10, 20 years ago or more....wow that is so much different! The ego does not like spiritual doula's so it will strike, but we are always ready for those moments and to help each other through them. And to spread this principle much wider and broader to all our brothers and sisters, in our life, and to all whom we are destined to meet etc....is a holy pleasure.

God, if I read all of this I am so happy. Thank you my friend. And may 2025 may be a fantastic spirital doula-year🥰 Love, Valentine

As always, your enthusiasm and love have energized my morning. I have been pondering this "writing stuff" the past several weeks after going back in time to my old blog, pre-social media, and realizing how different it was compared to how we interact online today. That pondering ended up turning into another post, which I will probably publish on New Year's morning. It made me realize anew what is truly important, which ties in nicely with this idea of serving others as spiritual doulas as well as feeling blessed when we are on the receiving end of that love.

I love you, my friend. Looking forward to our continued travels on the journey without distance. ❤️

This made me cry. Spiritual doula was exactly what you were for me when I met you. And now I’m blessed with TWO?! Every serious spiritual student needs a doula (or even 2!). I have no doubt, it has saved me (and everyone around me) YEARS of trying to figure it all out by myself. 💗💗💗

I love this. I’m actually working with a business client on a pretty similar doula idea. You are on to something!

& I am full of gratitude that you are one of the kind presences whose encouragement helped me move beyond both, the childhood conditioning of staying in the shadows & the horoscope supported inclination to remain buried beneath the sand, with only eyes on show, before a swift exit - sideways of course!

❤️Thank you! I'm laughing because my experience with crabs is a bit different. I gift you this opportunity to laugh at my expense: https://margaretreyesdempsey.com/2012/05/23/im-alive-and-49-pages-closer-to-the-end/

Please consider joining our up and coming webinar on Jan 22nd on the Role of the Doula in the Community. We will consider:

• Why culture and values must stay rooted in home and family.

• The growing loss of connection to older generations.

• The human need to feel part of a “herd.”

• Teenagers’ increasing disconnection from family life.

• How positive, supportive births create lasting human bonds.

• The essential emotional and physical support doulas provide.

• Why sensual, real-life connections are central to babies’ early experiences.

• The profound power of natural birth and helping others.

It would be fab to hear your perspective.

Thank-you for this comparison between a birthing experience and a spiritual journey. Both can take a long time and are difficult. Some people believe that a spiritual journey can be skipped through, and I have found many years of stumbling towards the light. Sometimes making progress and other times regressing. But I am happy to say, I am much closer to the light now than ever! But it has been a hard journey for me.... but I am so thankful I feel peace in my heart now.

Interesting that you mention skipping and stumbling. Over the years, whenever things began to speed up and I felt like I was "getting it," there would come a time of feeling like I was moving in reverse. It took a while to realize that this was a pattern, almost as if I couldn't sustain extended periods of skipping ahead without some rest built in. So, I no longer fear those times and just accept them when they come. This is the kind of information that seems helpful to share, especially when people are struggling. I've also noticed that as I moved away from excessive intellectual dissecting of spiritual principles and just focused on extending love, things got a lot easier. And laughter...that has played a huge part as well. Thank you for sharing your experience, Robyn. I'm glad to hear you feel peace in your heart. ❤️

What has really helped me is to continually forgive and give up judgement. So important to work on it all day long! I guess extending love helps too! haha

Agreed! For me, it definitely is a full-time job. I sometimes don't realize all the many ways I judge things in this world and not just in a negative sense.
